At least either 3+ years of experience as a business owner-manager, OR, 4+ years of experience as a senior manager, OR, a combination of 1+ year of experience as a business owner-manager and 2+ years of experience as a senior manager in the last five years (as a senior manager, you must have supervised at least 3 full-time employees.)

It is also a merit-based program and the investment in only qualifying communities is accepted. The community where you want to invest sponsors your application. In addition, the choice of businesses is limited in each community. On the flip side, the minimum requirements of this program are more relaxed as compared to the base category investment program.

The applicant must have at least $300,000 of net worth.

The applicant’s education must be at least post-secondary credential, OR, experience as an active business owner-manager for at least 3 of the last 5 years with 100% ownership in the business.

You must submit a business proposal to establish a new business in B.C. and be referred by an enrolled community.

The business ownership percentage is at least 51% for the proposed business.

A minimum of $100,000 investment is needed and a franchise can also be bought.

The business must create at least one full-time equivalent job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada within 14 months of a work permit.

You must engage and visit an enrolled community for support before registering.

The language requirement is a minimum of CLB 4 equivalent in English or French.
